Second-hand excavator purchase—Distinguish between water soaking machines and accident machines

When there is a lot of rain, excavators often get flooded in various places. Many of these water soaking machines have been sold into the market! Once you buy a machine like this, prepare to sell it early! Let’s first talk about how to identify a water soaking machine! It is difficult to test out the water soaking machine at once, and it is also difficult to see it at a glance, because if it were so easy to see, the second-hand dealer would have changed his profession long ago!

The first is the price of the excavator. If the price of the excavator is far lower than the market price, then you should be careful! Now that the market is so transparent, there won’t be so many things missed. If something strange happens, there must be something weird! When looking at the machine, the main purpose of the water soaking machine is to observe the sound insulation cotton and pay attention to whether there are any abnormal marks on the sound insulation cotton, because if it has been soaked in water, the mud in the water will definitely be stained on the sound insulation cotton, even if it is washed. No matter how clean it is, there will inevitably be residues. And if it is washed very clean, then there will be no more than three hundred taels of silver in this place!

After looking at the sound insulation cotton, look at the corners of the machine that are difficult to clean to see if there is mud deposits. Another thing is to look at the cab, there is a lot of stuff in the cab. The first thing is the seats. Those seams and joints are the key points to observe. There are also floor mats, be sure to lift them up and take a closer look. You should also look inside the fuse box and the thread connector. Mud and water are everywhere, but if you wash them, there will inevitably be some omissions. Be careful and you will never go wrong.

Let’s take a look at the accident machine again. The accidents referred to here mainly involve being hit by rocks and rolling over. The main thing here is to observe whether there are signs of deformation in the driving building, side doors, counterweights, and guard panels. These parts that are easily affected by impact, and whether there is any possibility of repainting. If there are traces of paint or sheet metal on the top of the cab, then the excavator may have rolled over. The marks on the side door and outside may have been caused by being hit by rocks or hit by cars!

As long as you have done sheet metal work, it will inevitably leave traces. When you go to buy a machine, you can first go to a friend you are familiar with to take some detailed photos of a normal excavator, and then compare it with the excavator you are going to buy. Compare one by one. Another thing to check is the paint surface of the excavator. If there are scratches on the excavator, check whether it is primer or putty powder under the scratched paint.

For some cars that have been repainted and then repainted, take a closer look at the paint on the oil pipe joints. See if it floats up. Because there won’t be that much paint on normal oil pipes, especially some excavators with very thick paint. Also, check the paint surface of the entire machine to see if there is any color difference. The color of newly made paint cannot be the same as that of the original paint. Even if it is original paint, the color of the paint will be different because of the different lengths of sunlight!

The above is my humble opinion on identifying water soaking machines and accident machines!
